Dr. Yunhong Wang, President of IBIH, delivered a keynote address at the 5th National Symposium on Lignin Science and Technology & Biomass Chemical Engineering Development Forum, held in Guangzhou from December 12–14.
The symposium brought together more than 600 experts from over 150 universities, research institutions, and leading industry players to explore cutting-edge advances and industrial pathways in lignin science and biomass-based chemical engineering. The event was chaired by Professor Xueqing Qiu, President of Guangdong University of Technology and Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering.
In his presentation titled “Expanding the Utilization of Non-Food Crop Resources: R&D and Applications of Lignin and Biomass Aerogels,” Dr. Wang highlighted IBIH's breakthroughs in the development and optimization of lignin-derived and biomass-based aerogels. He showcased their promising applications across environmental remediation, biomedical engineering, and advanced adsorption technologies—demonstrating a viable route toward high-value utilization of renewable resources.
